2021-03-17: NDL released new products of EQR15, EQR06 series SiPM

NDL released D generation products of EQR15, EQR06 series SiPM. Compared with C generation, its dark count rate is greatly reduced, the photon detection efficiency is increased, while the feature of high micro cell density, or large dynamic range is retained or enhanced.

2021-03-17: NDL released new products of PSS series SiPM and TCPC02 module

NDL released new products of Square Boarded Position Sensitive (PS) SiPM and TCPC02 module. Compared with Tetra Lateral PS-SiPM, the Square Boarded PS-SiPM features small barrel distortion, simple coordinate algorithm. Compared with TCPC01, TCPC02 is more application oriented and more compact.

2018-12-07: NDL attended the 5th International Workshop on New Photon-Detectors (PD18)

NDL attended and gave a presentation at the 5th International Workshop on New Photon-Detectors (PD18), held at the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan between Nov. 27th and 29th, 2018. The workshop discussed recent progress and development of photo-sensors including SiPM, APD, Hybrid-PMT, MCP-PMT and other new photo-sensors. Their applications to different fields such as particle physics, nuclear physics and medical sciences were also covered.

2018-06-18: NDL attended International Conference on the Advancement of Silicon Photomultipliers (ICASiPM)

ICASiPM, held in Schwetzingen on June 11-15, 2018, in Germany, brought together experts from all over the world to discuss the latest developments in silicon photomultipliers (SiPM), future directions, and most importantly, the standardization of SiPM characterization. NDL attended this conference and gave two oral presentation entitled "Dynamic Range Characterization of SiPM with a Double Light Superposition Method" and "Characterization of Position Measurement Error, Position Resolution and Photon Number Discrimination for Position-Sensitive SiPM" respectively.

2018-03-12: NDL released C-series silicon photomultipliers

NDL released the latest version of epitaxial quenching resistor (EQR) type silicon photomultipliers, the C-series silicon photomultiplier recently. Compared to its predecessor, the B-series silicon photomultiplier, the C-series silicon photomultiplier improved the device structure and the fabrication technology, so that the performance of C-series silicon photomultiplier is greatly improved, such as higher gain, higher PDE, larger maximum over-voltage, lower dark count rate, better time resolution, and capable operation at low temperatures down to 77 K.

2018-02-24: NDL has published a paper entitled "High-Time Resolved Two-Dimensional Tetra-Lateral Position-Sensitive Silicon Photomultiplier" on the IEEE Electron Device Letters

2D tetra-lateral position-sensitive silicon photomultiplier (PS-SiPM) has the advantages of high position and photon-number resolutions and only four readout channels for imaging application. However, its time resolution is limited by the position-dependent transmission time-delay effect. NDL reported a method to deduct the time jitter caused by transmission time delay and to improve the time resolution of PS-SiPM significantly. Thus, a PS-SiPM with simultaneous high time, position, and photon-number resolutions is realized.

2017-09-18: NDL has published a paper entitled "One-dimensional single-photon position-sensitive silicon photomultiplier and its application in Raman spectroscopy" on the Optics Express

NDL present a one-dimensional (1D) single-photon position-sensitive silicon photomultiplier (PS-SiPM) and its application in Raman spectroscopy for carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) for the first time. The device, featuring two cathodes on top and one anode at the bottom, takes advantages of both photon number and position discrimination, and combines the merits of both CCD (rapid measurement) and PMT (high gain, fast photon response, and simple readout electronics). This novel device concept has potential to become a low-cost and high-performance detector for various laser spectroscopy.

Photonics China Expo is the only photonics industry and cross-application technology services Exhibition Fair. Organizers are Chinese Society for Optical Engineering and China High-tech Industrialization Association. It is a new brand of China (Beijing) International Photoelectronic Exhibition from 2009.The 9th Exhibition was held on June 6th-8th, 2017, at Chinese International Exhibition Center (New Pavilion) in Beijing Shunyi District. NDL attended the exhibition and presented the latest products.

2017-03-29: NDL attended the 29th International Medical Instrument and Equipment Exhibition

China Med is one of the most influential exhibitions in medical instruments and equipment industry. The 29th International Medical Instrument and Equipment Exhibition (CHINA MED 2017) was held at China National Convention Center on March 24-26, 2017. NDL and its cooperation partner, the Photoelectrical Instrument Factory of Beijing Normal University attended the exhibition and presented the latest products-epitaxial quenching resistor type SiPMs, which have wide dynamic range, high detection efficiency, fast response, cost-effective. The devices can be widely used in nuclear medicine imaging, and other fields.

2017-02-24: NDL has published a paper entitled "New Distortion Correction Algorithm for Two-Dimensional Tetra-Lateral Position-Sensitive Silicon Photomultiplier" on the IEEE Electron Device Letters

2D tetra-lateral position sensitive silicon photomultiplier (SiPM), featuring epitaxial quenching resistors and an intrinsic continuous cap resistive layer for charge division, has attractive advantages of less output electrodes and simple readout electronics, high position resolution, discrimination of photon number, compatible to regular SiPM with epitaxial quenching resistors, and simple fabrication technology. However, the serious "barrel" position distortion may obstacle its practical applications. NDL presented a distortion correction algorithm to alleviate this position distortion problem and decrease the position measurement error greatly. As a result, the PS-SiPM has potential applications in small animal PET, remote measurement of beam directivity and mechanical deformation, and other weak light detections that need large amount of output channels and high spatial resolution.
